About Pomato Timer
Pomato Timer is a single-page timer webapp created using HTML/CSS
and vanilla Javascript. Based on on the Pomodoro timing technique
developed in the 1980s, this timer will help you get work done by
organizing your time into manageable chunks to maximize your waking
hours.
The Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique was developed in the late 1980s by then
university student Francesco Cirillo. Cirillo was struggling to
focus on his studies and complete assignments. Feeling overwhelmed,
he asked himself to commit to just 10 minutes of focused study time.
Encouraged by the challenge, he found a tomato (pomodoro in Italian)
shaped kitchen timer, and the Pomodoro technique was born.
The technique is simple, find a task to complete and set aside 25
minutes to concentrate on this task. After 25 minutes, you may take
a 5 minute break. Count this 25 minute work / 5 minute break as one
Pomodoro. After 4 Pomodoros, you may take a 15-30 minute break.
